Gigapanography

1280*1024, strange resolution?

I just get something unbelievable! Or at least, very strange...

Most of current screen resolution is 1280×1024 pixels, but this resolution has something strange and distorted the vision we have of pictures and text! I discover that by watching at photos in 1600×1200 and seeing black bands at the top and bottom of the screen.

Refused from PayPerPost

PayPerPost is a company which offers sponsored articles to bloggers.

With some big differences from the paid posts we have in France. The articles can be very numerous, you can nearly have a entire blog fulled with sponsored posts and publish 3 per day (at the beginning)! The counterpart is the offered sums are very low ($5 to $10).

I don't know in the rest of Europe, but in France, we are paid from 30€ to 100€, for blogs like mine with 500-1000 visitors a day.

As I don't know other anglophon service, I wanted to subscribe to PayPerPost for this English version of my site.

Of course, I read the terms: no racism, no violence, no pornography, etc... And our computer blog has been rejected!

Hard moments in video

Animusic, musical animations

Animusic is a band composed with a musician and a graphic artist. As their name suggests they make musical animations. All their creations are available on DVD on the site Animusic.com, but we can find some extracts on the video sharing sites.

The first short films were made several years ago. Since that time, the 3D technologies make some progress, but my favourite is one of the firsts, named Pipe Dream.

Images in PHP with GD2

As I already said earlier, PHP can not only make web pages. We can also generate images. First, let's see how to add a text on an image.

As it's a very long tutorial, which will be followed by other articles about images management in PHP, I divided it in two parts.

Possible uses include

create nice image titles with complex fonts like above (see the image address ),
add a signature text on all your images,
make a captcha (anti-spam image),
put dynamic text coming from PHP variables in images.

PC Inpact brings an important question about iPhone... Is it locked on 9:42AM in Apple office?

Indeed, on all iPhone screenshots from Apple the time shown on the photo is always the same: 9:42AM. Perhaps to standardize all images...

Unless this is only a private joke in Apple labs? The american company never said!
